It’s always interesting, as a Nascar fan whose home track is CLS, to see how advertisers make this track look exciting. The racing at Chicagoland Speedway is relatively boring compared to other tracks, and this commercial set the tone for an exciting beginning of the 2011 Chase. I hope the actual race is as exciting as the ad makes it seem!
I think it is fair to say that the racing hasn’t been completely thrilling in the last few years. NASCAR certainly is trying to address that from a macro level. Our view heading into the strategic planning for this year’s ad though was that the intensity will inherently be stepped up due to the Chase. Let’s hope it really is a great year at CLS.
